Over the years, schools and colleges have taken part in lots of fundraising activities, raising a massive £100,000 for The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity each year.
We really value the support of the schools that fundraise for The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity. They help The Royal Marsden to provide world-class care for cancer patients, and to support the hospital’s pioneering work in cancer research.
Our friendly Fundraising Team can help you get everyone involved, have fun and make your fundraising activity a success.
Why schools fundraising is so important
Because some of The Royal Marsden’s patients are smaller than others and have very specific needs, we have funded the Oak Centre for Children and Young People. This state-of-the-art facility is one of Europe’s largest comprehensive cancer centres for children and teenagers.
Architects have included features that appeal directly to the different age groups for whom the Centre has been developed. The roof terrace and chill-out zone are expected to be particularly popular with our teenage patients.
Each year the 31-bed centre will see around 600 inpatients and more than 5,000 day patients.

We may also be able to send someone to visit your school to give a presentation about The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity and fundraising in schools. The presentations are specially designed for 4–8 year olds, 9–13 year olds and 14–17 year olds, and are ideal to present to your class or assembly. We can also send you a DVD about The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity.
