Fly Fishing Day

A dull day in June found us as charity of choice at the Dever Springs Trout Fishery in Hampshire. This annual event, organised by recruiters Prima Principia and this year sponsored by Retail Human Resources (RHR), brings together a number of avid fishermen and keen novices to try their luck at reeling in the best catch of the day.

Putting down their rods and picking up their forks over a barbecue lunch and charity auction, the assembled guests exhibited as much competition in outbidding each other for prizes as they did in landing the biggest fish.

Peter Burgess, MD of RHR, said: “My wife was treated successfully for breast cancer two years ago at the Marsden in London. So, when I was asked to pick this year’s charity, it was an easy choice. Despite the economic climate, people got into the spirit of the auction to make the day a real success.”
