Language and interpreting services

The Royal Marsden has an arrangement with Language Line to provide a telephone interpreting service using suitably skilled interpreters to provide information in the preferred language of the patient.
A Language Line hands-free telephone is available to patients and their relatives or friends and can be used in a confidential place. Where appropriate, face-to-face interpretation is also sourced.
Information in other languages
The Royal Marsden is working towards developing information resources in other languages to meet the needs of the patient population whose first language is not English. Information directed towards ethnic minority groups will be culturally sensitive.
Assistance with sign language can be provided if required also.
