Following the recent media speculation regarding consolidation of hospital and charity accounts, The Royal Marsden Cancer Campaign (RMCC – an independent charity) confirms that International Accounting Standard 27 does not apply to, and will therefore not affect, the RMCC.
Projects for which funds are raised are decided by the RMCC board of trustees who identify state-of-the-art developments for the benefit of patients.
Sarah Bateson, Head of Fundraising, said: “We are grateful to all our supporters for their outstanding commitment and support. Once again this year they have got right behind our efforts to support new and exciting projects.
“For example, we are building Europe’s leading centre for children and teenagers with cancer, which incorporates dedicated paediatric drug development facilities, through a £15 million appeal as well as a new state-of-the-art Critical Care Unit with the very latest in world class technology and information systems.
“We would like to thank our supporters for their continued fundraising efforts.”
