Patient and Carer Advisory Group
|

The experiences of our patients and their carers can help make a difference to cancer care at the Royal Marsden. Perhaps you have ideas on how we can improve services or would like to comment on future developments. We would like patients, their carers (partners, relatives or friends) and members of the public to become more involved in the way we run our hospital. One way of doing this is by joining the Patient and Carer Advisory Group (PCAG).
PCAG is a group of patients, carers and members of the public who play an important role in helping the Royal Marsden focus on patients and their needs. The group meets regularly to collaborate with hospital staff on a wide range of issues that affect patients. Recently, the group has advised staff on how and when to provide information to patients and identified where improvement work should start following a survey on the experience of outpatients.
Achievements of the group include a revised patient privacy and dignity policy, a new approach to consent taking and the production of a leaflet to encourage patients and carers to become involved with the running of the hospital.
