What to expect

The Amsterdam Marathon

The Amsterdam Marathon course follows part of the Olympic Marathon route along the Amstel River giving participants and insight into the huge amount of daily business that takes place on the water. Runners also speed past stately homes and windmills. The route offers beautiful rural scenery and starts and ends in the magnificent Olympic Stadium. Every year this leaves an unforgettable impression, not least because of the presence of the supporters in the marathon grandstand.

Registration fee: £35

This spectacular race starts at the Stadionweg and passes through the centre of the city including through the world-famous Rijksmuseum on Museumplein, the beautiful and famous Vondelpark, and over the Utrechtse Bridge on the Amstel, before culminating in a grand arena finish at the Olympic Stadium. This historic stadium leaves a memorable impression on runners and supporters and other spectators have free access to the grandstand to cheer you on.

Every mile makes a difference

Steve and Deb took part in the Amsterdam Half Marathon as part of Team Marsden earlier this year, in memory of their beloved Sian. They shared with us what it feels like to take on a challenge for The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity:

"It was a pleasure for us to run and raise money in memory of Sian and to raise money so The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity can continue their great work helping others"

Thanks to our supporters we can continue to be there for everyone who needs us. We ensure the nurses, doctors and research teams at The Royal Marsden can provide the very best care and develop life-saving treatments, which are used across the UK and around the world.
