Simply historic

The Chester Marathon runners pass iconic landmarks such as the Roman walls, cathedral, Medieval rows, Eastgate Clock and the amphitheatre, before heading out to the stunning countryside and villages of Cheshire and North Wales.

The route then runs alongside the River Dee before finishing at the racecourse. Strong support from the villages and communities along the course is one of the many highlights of the race.
