We share supporter stories in a variety of ways to inspire others to get involved in our fundraising events or to donate towards the life-saving work of The Royal Marsden. If you've been supported by The Royal Marsden, taken part in a clinical trial or fundraised for us, we'd love to hear from you.

Share your story

How we share supporter stories

  • We will always ask you first before sharing any part of your story, and you will always be given the choice about how and where your story is shared and how it is told.
  • We will always get in touch to confirm each time we would like to share your story publicly.
  • Our dedicated Stories team will support you throughout the process to make sure you are comfortable with whatever activity you’re taking part in.
  • You can also change your mind about sharing your story publicly at any time. 

Ways we share your stories

We share our supporter's stories in a variety of ways to inspire others to get involved and support the life-saving work of The Royal Marsden.  

Online

We share supporter stories on our website, social media channels, and in digital advertising campaigns.

In print

We share supporter stories in our mailings, reports, appeals and other print campaigns.

In person

We may invite you to attend our events, or to get involved with photoshoots or filming.

Speaking at events

We may invite you to speak at our events, with our corporate partners, or with the media. 

“Sharing my story is a way of saying thank you to the hospital that saved my life.” 

“At age 25 I was told I had two years to live," says Fran. "Now, thanks to treatment at The Royal Marsden, I’m in remission! I’ve shared my story to help support The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity. People who heard my story were definitely inspired to donate, as they could see how I’ve directly benefitted – The Royal Marsden has saved my life and I’m so grateful. I’m keen to show the positive outcomes of charity fundraising and The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity is a cause very close to my heart.”
