How to Make the Most of the Banham Marsden March

Here’s how to make the most out of the big day. After all that fundraising and walking, you’ve earned it!

Top Tips for the Banham Marsden March

  • The march will set off in waves, your start time is detailed in your walker pack. Each wave will be set off by a special speaker. Look out for the likes of Bill Turnbull, Deborah James (Bowel Babe), Lauren Mahon (Girl VS. Cancer), Steve Bland, Toral from the Urban Kitchen, as well as hospital staff and patients.
  • If you’re doing the 5-mile walk, there’ll be a Zumba session to get you warmed up, thanks to Mis-Fit Fitness. There will also be a Scout Band (Kingston & Malden Scout Band) performance in the Food Tent.
  • There will be MCs in Chelsea and at King George’s playing fields, as well as our very own Radio Marsden at the finish area – listen out for them!
  • Environmentally friendly water cartons from OneWater will be available at the start, checkpoints and at the finish. We advise that you bring some extra water too, especially if the forecast looks warm!
  • There will be a limited number of biodegradable ponchos available for walkers in case of wet weather, but do make sure you wrap up warm with plenty of layers and a waterproof coat in case of rain.
  • There will be delicious hot food and drinks to buy at King George’s playing fields Food Lovers Delight and Cripes it’s Crepes, as well as a tasty BBQ at the finish in Sutton, so please don’t forget to bring cash.

  • When you cross the finish line, you’ll receive your hard-earned Banham Marsden March medal. Wear it with pride!
  • Sutton Complementary Health Network are kindly offering FREE massages for all walkers at the finish line in Sutton – just head to the Massage Tent.
  • Live entertainment will be helping you celebrate in festival style at the finish, including: Sing With Us Choir, the Hangovers, Epsom Male Voice Choir, Bloco do sol and Endurance Steel Orchestra.
  • Families can head to The Kids Zone at the finish line where you’ll find fun face painters and a balloon modeller.
