Golfers across the UK have been amazing supporters of the charity, raising more than £1,100,000 over the last 10 years.
This incredible support has enabled us to make real advances for our patients, funding new equipment such as CyberKnife, discovering new treatments through clinical trials, and providing the best care for our young patients through our play specialists at The Oak Centre for Children and Young People. Thank you.
You can read more about the work the charity has supported thanks to fantastic people like you here.
There are many ways your golf club can fundraise for us. We've pulled together a few ideas below.
Golf club captains
Are you this year’s golf club captain? If so, could you nominate us as your club’s charity of the year? We can supply you with a wide range of fundraising materials, such as posters, banners and collection boxes to help you publicise your fundraising events. We also have lots of ideas for fundraising activities that you could plan throughout the year
Organise a charity golf day
These days can be lots of fun and filled with sporting challenges for everyone involved. They can also be very successful at raising money for charity.
The first step is to pick a date avoiding any other golf tournaments or big sporting events. Then decide how many teams you can accommodate on the day and establish an entry fee for each participating team. This is donated to charity. The next step is to promote it and persuade lots of people to join in!
There are many different ways to fundraise on your charity golf day. Here are some tried and tested methods:
- Have longest drive or nearest the pin competitions
- Is there a lake on the course? You could fine anyone who tees off and makes a splash
- For those players who want an advantage: sell Mulligans for a donation
- Have a photographer take photos during the game and sell them afterwards
- Play 18 holes in a dinner jacket (or fancy dress if you’re up for it)
Your day could also end with a dinner, raffle or auction. See our fundraising news blog for other ideas.
