Can you help to save the lives of people with cancer?
Thomas Romain, 33, father of four, was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma when he was 26 years old.
He came to The Royal Marsden after his cancer became resistant to other types of chemotherapy and was the first patient at the hospital to receive CAR-T treatment, a pioneering therapy which uses the patient’s own immune system to attack cancer cells.
This new therapy saved his life.

Can you help us to provide world-leading treatment and care?
“What made the difference was the people around me. The staff at The Royal Marsden were incredible, not just professional, but truly empathetic, and I felt supported as a whole person, not just as a patient, and for that, I will always be grateful.”
Aurora, 39, breast cancer patient.

Can you help to fund research that’s revolutionising how we diagnose and treat cancer?
“I've treated cancer patients for almost two decades. It has been difficult to watch patients go through treatment at times, because it can be intense with associated side effects.
My research focuses on preventing cancer in the first place, as well as trying to make our treatments as precise as possible so that we can alleviate suffering.
The discoveries we’re making at The Royal Marsden influences the way we treat patients up and down the country, as well as worldwide.”
Dr Irene Chong, Clinical Oncology Consultant at The Royal Marsden
