Philanthropy

By making a philanthropic gift to us, you’re supporting groundbreaking work at The Royal Marsden to advance cancer research, treatment and care.

Your support is life-saving

The Royal Marsden is a world-leading comprehensive cancer centre. Since the hospital was founded in 1851, philanthropy has been a major part of The Royal Marsden.

Today, 1 in 2 of us will be diagnosed with cancer in our lifetime.

We need your support more than ever before. By making a philanthropic gift of £10,000 or more, you can help to revolutionise the way cancer is diagnosed and treated for people, everywhere.

Our Philanthropy team is here to guide you every step of the way. Whether you choose to make a gift to us individually, through a Trust or Foundation, as a donation from abroad or by another way of giving, we’re here to help you make the most of your generosity.

The William Marsden Circle

The William Marsden Circle recognises supporters who give £100,000 or more in a three-year period.

The name of the Circle has been chosen to reflect the heritage of the hospital. In 1851, generous individuals helped to realise Dr William Marsden’s vision to create the world’s first hospital dedicated to the study, research and treatment of cancer. Philanthropy has remained at the centre of our work to support the hospital ever since and we are proud to recognise our supporters.

The Patrons’ Circle

The Patrons’ Circle recognises supporters who have given £1 million or more. The membership of The Patrons’ Circle is in perpetuity.

Experts at The Royal Marsden continue to make breakthroughs in cancer research for world-leading treatment and care, thanks to their exceptional generosity. The Joint Patrons of The Royal Marsden, Their Royal Highnesses The Prince and Princess of Wales, are the figureheads of the Circle.
