Payroll giving

Donate to us straight from your salary in a flexible, tax-free way using Payroll giving. Your regular donation will help support the life-saving work at The Royal Marsden.

How does Payroll giving work?

Payroll giving is an easy, tax-efficient way of giving money to charity. Your donation comes directly from your salary and is taken before you pay tax, giving you immediate tax relief on your donations.

This means your donation will cost you less, and we will still receive the full amount - the tax system pays the rest.

For example, when you make a donation of £5 through Payroll giving:

  • If you are a standard rate taxpayer (20% tax), only £4 will come out of your salary
  • If you are a higher rate taxpayer (40% tax), only £3 will come out of your salary

Payroll giving is flexible - you can give as much, or as little, as you like and change the amount of your donation whenever suits you. You can also pause your payroll donations for a while, if you need to.

How to donate through Payroll giving

Payroll donations must be made through PAYE from your wages or pension. To make Payroll donations, your employer will need a Payroll giving scheme already in place, such as Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) Give As You Earn. Check with your HR or Payroll department that they have a scheme you can join.

If your employer has a Payroll giving scheme in place, you can download and complete our form to share with your Payroll team. They will be able to set up your donation.
