“I wouldn’t be here without the combination immunotherapy treatment I received. It saved my life.”

Lucy was referred to The Royal Marsden in 2013 with stage four melanoma having been told she only had a few months to live.

She took part in the Checkmate 067 trial, where the combination of nivolumab and ipilimumab immunotherapy drugs were trialled. The combination treatment was successful and 12 years later, Lucy is still doing well and looking forward to celebrating another Christmas with her family.

Combination immunotherapy is helping more than half of people with advanced melanoma to survive for ten years or more. However, we urgently need to find treatments for other patients who are waiting for the next breakthrough.
