Donate this Christmas and help us develop life-saving cancer treatments for everyone, everywhere.
In September 2013, Lucy was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and was told she only had a few months to live.
The same year Lucy was referred to The Royal Marsden where she took part in the Checkmate 067 trial, a combination immunotherapy treatment which was successful. 12 years later, Lucy is still doing well and is looking forward to spending Christmas with her family.
Combination immunotherapy is helping more than half of people with advanced melanoma to survive for ten years or more. However, we urgently need to find treatments for the patients who don’t respond.

“My children were five and seven years old when I received my diagnosis and they are now 17 and 19. I’ve been able to see them go to college, which is amazing.”
In 2016 Hasna was told she had secondary breast cancer and that she might only have two years to live.
Shortly after Hasna was referred to The Royal Marsden, where she has taken part in five different clinical trials. Each trial has given her more time with her family and enabled doctors to learn more about how best to treat her type of cancer. Thanks to the clinical trials at The Royal Marsden, Hasna never lost hope and will celebrate Christmas with her family.

“Joining a clinical trial at The Royal Marsden made me realise that maybe I would have a chance to live”
