Gemma took on the 2026 South Downs Challenge in the memory of her Dad and to say thank you to The Royal Marsden for the care he received.
"The love, care and compassion my Dad received from everyone at The Royal Marsden was beyond anything we could have imagined. After he died, my mum received a card signed by everyone who had cared for him. It was such a thoughtful gesture and meant so much to our family.
The atmosphere was amazing; everyone was taking on the challenge for their own personal reason. The event leaders were so supportive, as were the wonderful members of The Royal Marsden team who came along to cheer us on. My advice would be to train as much as you can, pace yourself on the day, and just keep going. The feeling when you cross the finish line is indescribable."
Thanks to incredible supporters like Gemma, we continue to fund vital research and care for all those affected by cancer.
