Whether you see the new year as an opportunity for a fresh start, to take stock, or to challenge yourself to try something new, this year, get the satisfaction of knowing you’ve supported a brilliant cause while achieving your New Year's resolutions.
To inspire you, we've put together six ways you can smash 2026 while helping to support people whose lives have been affected by cancer.

1. Spend more time with family and friends
Spending more time with family and friends is a resolution many of us make. Be sure to schedule an exciting family day out in your diary by signing up for your places in The Banham Marsden March.
Join us on 10 May 2026 and walk the 15 miles between our two hospitals in Chelsea and Sutton. Or join the family friendly five-mile route. After crossing the finish line, enjoy a party and live music. It’s a whole day of family friendly fun, raising funds that will make a difference to the lives of cancer patients everywhere.

2. Get fit
For those with ambitious fitness goals in 2026, why not get fit AND get a medal in the process? A marathon or half marathon are great ways to work towards your fitness goals. Here are some we've got coming up in the year:
- The Palace Half Marathon – run alongside the beautiful riverside grounds of Hampton Court Palace and take in the historic scenery.
- The Hackney Half Marathon - join Team Marsden and take part in this fantastic marathon. This route takes you through the vibrant districts and iconic landmarks of East London, starting and finishing in Hackney Marshes. And with live bands and entertainment throughout the course, you can soak up the festival spirit on your run.

3. Test your stamina
Want to push yourself further in 2026? Take on an unforgettable trek through northern Spain with the Camino de Santiago trail.
Historically an ancient pilgrimage route, today the Camino de Santiago is world-renowned as an unforgettable trek. Whilst this is not a religious tour, the trail still symbolises introspection, learning, and fresh starts.
Join Team Marsden to take on this reflective and meaningful challenge, and to raise vital funds to make a difference to the lives of those affected by cancer.

4. Do something that scares you
Perhaps your resolution this year is to be more adventurous or to do something that scares you in 2026.
Ever wondered what it feels like to jump out of a plane and free fall at over 120mph through the air? Why not join us for our Summer Skydive for a once-in-a-lifetime experience and raise vital funds for cancer patients here and across the world.

5. Dust off your bike and get cycling!
Making a resolution to improve your fitness in 2026, or even just to dust off the bicycle you haven't used in a while? What better motivation than a cycle ride from the big city to Brighton's beautiful beach.
Setting off from south London, the scenic route covers 55 miles, finishing in Brighton with a picture perfect finish on the seafront.

6. Spend more time in nature
Looking for a challenge with fabulous views? Then take a look at the South Downs trek!
This incredible coastal trek starts just outside of Brighton and takes you on 26 miles of testing terrain before finishing at Eastbourne seafront. Hike across rolling hills with panoramic views of the south coast.
