Patient care

Mother and daughter

The Royal Marsden places the highest importance on patient dignity and care, so projects to modernise our wards and day care facilities are vitally important.

Recently, these have included the refurbishment of Ellis Ward, generously funded by Jimmy Thomas, Horder Ward and the Diane McCarthy Medical Day Unit.

In addition to this, and thanks to our supporters raising £16 million, The Royal Marsden now has Europe’s leading centre for paediatric cancer treatment and care. The Oak Centre for Children and Young People, which was opened by TRH The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge in September 2011, now sees over 5,000 paediatric day patients and 600 inpatients every year. It is also at the forefront of paediatric drug development research.

Help us improve patient care even more

We need to undertake further work to upgrade our patient environments to ensure that our patients receive the best possible levels of care.

The revolutionary way we treat people in our hospitals has far reaching impact, nationally and internationally. Support The Royal Marsden and you’re helping to build a future beyond cancer for you and everyone you know.
