Treating cancer

CyberKnife radiotherapy system

The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity is committed to funding innovation in cancer treatments, as the latest technologies are essential to offering our patients the very best treatment options.

Supporters of the charity have funded pioneering equipment that has changed the way cancer patients across the country are being treated. These include:

  • CyberKnife – the latest in radiotherapy technology, which even provides treatment options for some inoperable tumours
  • da Vinci S surgical robot – enabling surgeons to conduct complex prostate and gynaecological surgery via tiny incisions, with outstanding accuracy and control
  • the latest MRI scanners, part of The Reuben Foundation Imaging Centre, which enable tumours to be viewed in exquisite detail so that clinicians can make the most informed decision on treatment plans.

We need to continually invest in the latest treatment technology in order to ensure our patients continue to receive the best possible cancer treatment.
