Bud Flanagan Ambulatory Care Unit

Cancer patient in Bud Flanagan Ambulatory Care Unit

Advances in technology and drug development mean that many patients are able to receive treatment as a day patient rather than being admitted to hospital.

Responding to demand for more haemato-oncology outpatient services, we funded the extension and redevelopment of a new outpatients department at The Royal Marsden’s Sutton hospital, which opened in December 2009.

In the new Bud Flanagan Ambulatory Care Unit, patients receive the highest quality care in a spacious, comfortable environment. Privacy has been increased and waiting times reduced. The increased capacity also means that patients can be treated in clinics that specialise in their cancer type.
